Company Profile
Who We Are
TPH® is a privately held Company with head offices located in Toronto Ontario . A five member executive team is responsible for overseeing daily operations and managing the strategic growth of the Company.

Earle O’Born, President & CEO of The Printing House Limited™
Our President and CEO Earle O'Born started the Company in 1961. The journey of transforming one single TPH® branch in Toronto into a 70 location cross-Canada network is an inspirational story of one man's determination and drive to become one of Canada 's most influential business men.

Earle O'Born first began his career as a journeyman typesetter. At the early age of 22, Earle left the typesetting business to start his own general printing company. In 1961, The Printing House Limited (TPH® ) was incorporated and thus the first “instant printing” company in North America was founded. Today TPH® has continued to grow into what is now one of the largest privately-owned branch networks across Canada.

With over 65 locations, Earle has developed a unique operating model of empowering each branch Manager to influence the business on a minute-to-minute basis and to be in full control of doing what's necessary to impress the Customer.

In the late 70's after attending the Executive Management course at Western University , Earle founded the Western Business School Club in Vancouver where he later served as its first President. In 1993, McGill University honoured Earle with the Management Achievement Award for outstanding success in promoting Canadian business.

Earle is also featured in the Canadian “Who's Who” which was originally published in 1998. In 1999 and again in 2001 The Printing House Limited under Earle's leadership was recognized as one of Canada 's 50 Best Managed Companies. In 2002, Earle was recognized by his industry peers as #11 in the Top 50 Most Influential Pioneers in the Graphics Arts industry in Canada by the Graphics Arts Monthly Magazine; and in 2004 Earle was recognized as a provincial finalist in Canada 's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Earle O'Born also leads in community involvement through the philanthropic efforts of the TPH® Charitable Office which he formed with his wife Janice, in 1983 to “help others, help themselves”. Through the continuing efforts of four full-time staff members, TPH® Charitable Office has continued to raise millions of dollars for various charities across Canada . Earle and Janice are active supporters of Sick Kids Hospital and just recently TPH® received the CIBC "Spirit of Leadership" Community Award in recognition of TPH®'s community spirit and corporate giving programs through their TPH® Charitable Office.

Earle is the proud father of five children, whose ages span over four decades. Still active in the business, Earle enjoys a good game of golf, spends time constantly building “things” at his farm and is known to never walk by a penny – he truly believes in “taking care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves”.
