FSC Certification
As of July 2006, TPH® has achieved Chain of Custody Certification (CoC) from the Forestry Stewardship Council of Ontario (FSC). CoC is the process by which forest products are tracked from the forest through to the end distributor. Market demand for FSC – certified products is increasing rapidly as consumer awareness grows along with an equally growing concern for the environment. FSC products are an answer to these growing concerns providing an alternative to those who wish to print and produce in an environmentally sound and responsible manner.
The Forestry Stewardship is an international, membership based, non-profit organization that supports environmentally healthy, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests. The Canadian branch of FSC was founded in 1996 and at the present time there are only 60 printing companies, within Canada , that are FSC certified. Forest certification is a voluntary marketing mechanism through which forests are certified against a strict set of environmental and social standards. All the producers and manufacturers along this supply chain are certified as well, ensuring that the final product, bearing the FSC logo, originated from the certified forest.
